Dear fellow worker of the Christian Worship Hour:
WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL, DECEMBER. You know why? Because it is the month in which we celebrate the Savior’s birth! What a wonderful event that was—we call it incarnation, that is, the enfleshment of the Son of God. Have you ever thought, “Why did He come?” Let me give you seven reasons why Jesus was born of the virgin, and became flesh.
HE CAME TO REVEAL THE INVISIBLE GOD. St. John tells us, “No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, He hath revealed Him.” (John 1:18). Jesus brought God to us in human flesh. Men saw Him, heard Him, handled Him. So, if you want to see God, don’t go to the burning bush, go to Jesus. Jesus Christ is the perfect exhibition of God Almighty. That’s why we ought to get to know Jesus better. (John 10:30, 14:9) (Phil. 3:10).
HE CAME TO FULFILL PROPHECY. “Isaiah declared, “Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7:14). God always keeps His Word, even though it may take some years, it always comes to pass. In the Garden of Eden God told Adam and Eve He would send a Redeemer, and in due time He came! (Genesis 3:15). And you know what—Jesus will come the second time when God is ready! (Gal. 4:4).
HE CAME TO FULFILL THE DAVIDIC COVENANT. God made a covenant with David, that is, a promise. God told David, “And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established forever before thee: thy throne shall be established forever.” (II Samuel 7:16). Jesus is of the house and lineage of David, thus Jesus Who comes in David’s line, will set upon David’s throne and, because Jesus lives forever, so David’s throne, or house, will live forever! Wow! (Luke 1:32,33) (Isaiah 9:6,7).
HE CAME TO PROVIDE A SACRIFICE FOR SIN. St. John writes, “And ye know that He was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin.” (I John 3:5). We are all sinners; no one can argue against that. None of us can die for the sins of others because we have sins of our own. So Jesus, who had no sin, took our place on the cross and died for our sins. We didn’t deserve it, but He did it anyway. So, the good news, “the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (I John 1:7) (Hebrews 9:26).
HE CAME TO PROVIDE THE REDEEMED WITH A HIGH PRIEST. “…that He might be a merciful and faithful high priest….to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.” (Hebrews 2:17). So Jesus, the wonderful High Priest, died on the cross for our sins, then was raised up and has ascended into heaven where He intercedes for us before the throne of grace! (Heb. 4:14-16). So, whenever I have a need, or fail Him with some sin, Jesus, our great High Priest, prays for us and represents us to God. Isn’t He wonderful? (II Cor. 5:19) (Hebrews 7:25).
HE CAME TO PROVIDE AN EXAMPLE FOR BELIEVERS. …Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps.” (I Peter 2:21). Jesus is our example, not human beings. Jesus was perfect, so we strive to be like Him. A good thing to do is ask ourselves, “What would Jesus do?” Of course, we all fail, but when we do we go to Jesus and ask Him to forgive us, and He does it every time! (I John 1:9). Isn’t Jesus a wonderful Friend? (Prov. 17:17; 18:24) (Hebrews 13:5).
HE CAME TO PROVIDE A NEW HEAD FOR CREATION. Adam was the first head of creation, but he fell flat as a pancake, just like you or I would have done. So God has chosen a new head, Jesus Christ, to be the head of creation. The writer to the Hebrews tells us, “Thou hast put all things in subjection under His (Jesus) feet.” (Hebrews 2:8) (I Cor. 15:22) (Phil 2:9-11).
Do I like December, the month we celebrate the coming of Jesus into this world? Well, I guess. Thanks for your prayers and gifts. PRAY hard, GIVE as best you can, and TELL others about this wonderful Savior!
God bless you, I’ll be looking for you this weekend.
In our Savior’s Love,
Harold E. Salem, Pastor
THANK YOU FOR WRITING…
I want to thank you for your broadcast. I am a single mom who watches your program. I wrote to you a month ago asking for prayer for my 7-year-old son to commit his life to Christ. You kindly sent some pamphlets about salvation. Thank you. We were watching your sermon “I Am the Door” on your website and midway through the sermon I paused the video and discussed it with my son. I asked him if he wanted to give his life to Jesus and he was quiet so I was about to start the video to complete the sermon when my son spoke out suddenly, ‘Yes! Yes, mama I do!” With tears in his eyes, he prayed and talked things over with Jesus. So on August 14, 2019, I had the joy of watching my son being born again. Please pray for him to desire baptism and have courage (he is a bit afraid of putting his head in the water). Please pray for his relationship with Christ to grow strong and steadfast. Thank you eternally.
Today at 8 to 8:30 pm on the car radio the Holy Spirit allowed me to hear Dr. Harold E Salem for the first time “JUST IN TIME”. I’ve been grieving over my sin and failure and realizing I can’t go back and redeem it and be a minister and father and grandfather. It was a Holy Spirit orchestrated blessing to hear Pastor because I had lost the ability to remember “JESUS IS ENOUGH”, past, present and future. Pastor’s message lifted me out of self-condemnation and back into the eternal forever appreciation for my salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord! Thank you Heavenly Father for CWH and all it does for your Glory Father and for your kingdom and for the lost souls that have and will be born again because of the CWH ministry. In Jesus precious name!!! Amen and Amen
Thank you Pastor Salem for your “no nonsense” message. I watch every Sunday morning on the Daystar channel. Love to all at Christian Worship Hour.
You will never know how much you have helped me. Blessings in Christ Jesus.
God bless you and your family, that includes your staff. I receive your literature here in Costa Rica. Thank you very much. Till the Lord comes then we will unite in Heaven.

Living in Sweden too! Please mail some monthly newsletters. Keep up the GR8 JOB! (GREAT JOB!)
From the first time I heard you I was hooked! I want you to live as long as possible so I can hear your sermons. But like you always say, I look forward to seeing you in heaven. Thank you for changing my life.
Before the sermon you gave a message on babies that are aborted and they are in heaven. You looked right at me. I felt like you were talking directly to me, to my very heart and soul. You said, if you have had an abortion and are a Christian and have asked Jesus to forgive you, your sin is forgiven and you will see your baby in heaven! I knew that. But to hear you say it made me grateful and I cried. Thank you so very much. I love you too! Please accept this gift to help with your ministry!
I’ve listened to you during the worship hour on TV. I have a question if you don’t mind. How people can apply the salvation in daily lives?
I am so thankful I can have a small part of getting the gospel out all over the world. God bless you folks.

“And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.”
