The other day I read about a little fellow preparing to say his nightly prayers before he went to bed. His mother had been in his room helping him with some last minute homework. As he knelt to pray, he said to his mother, “Mom, just go away because I want to talk to God.” Whereupon the mother asked, “But why can’t I listen in?” “Well, the little guy said, I don’t mind telling God the wrong things that I did today because I know He will forgive me and will forget it all. But if you are here, you will go on yelling about them forever.” The little boy had it right. When God forgives us, He forgives us forever. He will never bring up past sins and wrong doings. So God promises in Hebrews 10:17, “And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.” That’s the kind of God we have, One who forgives us our sins, and then remembers them no more. Don’t you just love Him?
