Proverbs 31:10

The other day I read about a little girl seated between her parents and for the first time in her life, got to look at their wedding album.  There it was. She was amazed when she saw her Mother in her bride’s dress and her Father in his tuxedo.  After looking at it for a long time, the little girl asked her dad, “Daddy, is that the day you got Mom to come and work for us?”  Well, I guess.

As we observe Mother’s Day this weekend, perhaps it is time to give her special thanks for “working for us.”  To be sure, it is a labor of love on her part, but it is work just the same.  So maybe it is time we gave her special thanks.

But don’t stop there.  Help with the dishes, carry out the garbage, put your clothes away when you are done with them.  Compliment her for the meal she has worked to prepare and for goodness sake, stop taking everything for granted.  And above all, thank God for her and show her genuine love and appreciation—all year long.

Happy Mother’s Day, Mothers.
