Prayerfully, carefully we study the Bible so we are sure we get the right message, and don’t end up working some big blunder. “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth”.

The other day I read about a lady who was traveling in Europe with a group of friends.  On one of their shopping trips she found a beautiful diamond and ruby bracelet that took her breath away!  She was enthralled with the jewelry.  So she sent a message to her husband that read, “Have found a beautiful bracelet.  It costs $75,000 dollars.  May I buy it for our anniversary?”    He responded, “NO, price is too high.”  However, somehow in the transmission, his comma after “NO” was deleted so she read, “No price too high,” meaning that she was worth it.  So she purchased the bracelet. Lord have mercy.  St. Paul told young Timothy to pay attention in the reading of God’s word so that you get the right message.  “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.”  (II Tim. 2:15).  Prayerfully, carefully we study the Bible so we are sure we get the right message, and don’t end up working some big blunder.
