JUST ONCE
Christmas, what a wonderful time of the year. Personally it is my favorite of all the holidays. So it was for little Jessica. She got all of the presents she wanted and a lot more besides. To top it off she got to play with all her cousins and the food, it was out of this world! What a great and wonderful day.

As her mother tucked her in her bed, Jessica sighed and said, “Mommy, I sure hope that Mary and Joseph have another baby next year!”

Sorry Jessica, but only once will the angels cry out from heaven, “unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:11). Yes, only once will Jesus be born of the virgin.

As a matter of fact, there are many things that happen only once. For instance, only once will Jesus be born, only once will He be tempted by the devil, only once will He be abused by wicked men, only once will He suffer and die on a cruel Roman cross, only once will He be raised from the dead. Yes, only once. So this Christmas, let us thank God that once Jesus came to save us from our sins.
