"A New Song" August 2020

Bible Study

Dear fellow worker of the Christian Worship Hour:
Have you ever heard of the “BEES OF THE BIBLE?” There are a whole bunch of them! They never sting
and they always yield honey to spare. These bees live in a hive so, where you find one you find many. Let
me tell you about them:

 BEE KINDLY AFFECTIONED ONE TO ANOTHER. (Rom. 12:10). God tells us to be mindful of one another and to love our neighbor as ourselves! That’s a tall order, but God will enable us to live that way if we submit to Him and the leadership of His Spirit. Let’s find ways to show our love and kindness to those about us. Someone may have an aching, breaking heart and we would never guess it. One old pastor said, “If you’re not very kind, you’re not very spiritual.”
 BEE SOBER AND WATCH UNTO PRAYER. (I Peter 4:7). To be sober means to be earnest, sincere, from the bottom of our heart. No pretend stuff, but sincerely praying for others from our very heart. I venture to say that every one of us knows someone going through some tough times—and they need our love and prayers.
 BEE CONTENT WITH SUCH THINGS AS YE HAVE. (Phil. 4:11). When does a rich man have enough? Never. He is always grasping for more. Not so the child of God. If he has much, he liberally gives much for the cause of Christ. If he has little, he rejoices in that he has eternal life and enough food for supper. Did you know that we could live on bread and water! Anything else is bonus.
 BEE STRONG IN THE LORD. (Eph. 6:10). I guess we all want that strength in our faith and love for Jesus, our Lord. The question is, how do we get this strength? We get it several ways, like reading our Bible and mediating on its words. God will speak to us as we listen to His Word. Also, His Holy Spirit reveals His will to us as we meditate on God’s Word, be quiet and let it permeate our heart and soul. We can all be strong. (Phil.4:13).
 BEE COURTEOUS. (I Peter 3:8). Some Christians grump around like an old bear. Those are the kind you like to loan money, and then you never see them again! God is telling us to be kind to one another, courteous, humble, and considerate. God tells us that “a soft answer turneth away wrath”. (Proverbs 15:1). Be a peacemaker and pour oil on troubled waters. God will bless you, and others, for it.
 BEE NOT WISE IN YOUR OWN CONCEITS. (Romans 12:16). Do you enjoy being around a “know it all”? No one does. A “know it all” does not like being around another know it all. The sad thing is that no one knows it all, so forget it. Instead, be humble and willing to listen to those around you—they may be carrying a heavy burden and you can help them by listening—and then praying for them. (Matt. 11:28-30),
 BEE FOLLOWERS OF GOD AS DEAR CHILDREN. (Eph. 5:1). The apostle is telling us, as children imitate their parents, so we, as God’s children, should imitate Him. A good question to ask is, “What would Jesus do?” Everything we do or say should be put to that test. The result will be that others will see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16).
So, why not join the “honey bee club” and be a blessing to yourself and to those about us. I am going to try harder!

I want to thank all of you for your PRAYERS. The keys to it all are the prayers of God’s people on behalf of this ministry. Some of you can’t get around very well—all the more time to pray! Did you know that prayer is more important than money? If we are undergirded with prayer, all the rest will come out, as God wants it.

Thanks for being a part of the team!

God bless you. I’ll be watching for you this week.

In our Savior’s Love,

Harold E. Salem, Pastor

Letters From Our Viewers

THANK YOU FOR WRITING…
Only a few weeks ago did I find your morning Christian service. I really enjoy it. A question: My wife died. I did not treat her as well as I should have. When in heaven will I have a chance to explain to her how sorry I am?
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA

I love your easy to understand sermons. I love you and all your staff and your ministry. I repeated the sinner’s prayer with you about two years ago. I am so happy I am forgiven and that I am saved. I am a Vietnam Veteran and so glad Jesus took care of me. Thank God for Christian Worship Hour. In Jesus love.
BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA

Because of your television ministry, my two nephews received Jesus into their lives. They watch your church as a family and they prayed, with their dad, to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. What a blessing!
RAPID CITY, SOUTH DAKOTA

I listen to your morning worship every Sunday. I enjoy the prayers and scripture reading from the Bible. I remember the day when I finally received Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. I never thought I would be worth anything until I started to pray to God and He made my head swing. As I prayed and began to believe that one day I will achieve my dreams. Desert Storm Veteran
CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA

I am a single mom who watches your program. I wrote to you a month ago asking for prayer for my 7-year-old son to commit his life to Christ. We were watching your sermon, “I Am the Door” on your website and midway through the sermon I paused the video and discussed it with my son. I asked him if he wanted to give his life to Jesus he was quiet so I was about to start the video to complete the sermon when my son spoke out suddenly, “Yes! Yes, mama I do”. With tears in his eyes, he prayed and talked things over with Jesus. So on August 14, 2019, I had the joy of watching my son being born again.
TUCSON, ARIZONA

I’m like you, I was saved at 12 years old because the preacher said some one loved me enough to die for me. I had never been told I was loved. I’m now 82 and a retired missionary waiting for the rapture.
KINGSTON, TENNESSEE

I don’t have TV service but am able to get them on my smartphone. Isn’t technology wonderful? Age 30, one of your young listeners!
ABERDEEN, SOUTH DAKOTA

You are an inspiration to me a 99-year-old inspiration. I am 76 years old and going back into pastoring. (Pray for me).
CLERMONT, FLORIDA

My legally blind daughter lives in Los Angeles, California. I live in Casper, Wyoming. She calls me on my land line every Sunday. I hold the phone towards the TV and we listen to CWH together.
CASPER, WYOMING

I am 71 years old. I was recently in the hospital. I had you on like I do on Sundays when the doctor came in. He ended up watching you all the way through.
BUTTE, MONTANA

We thanked our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for this ministry that has blessed us in abundance learning about the only truth and has helped the fear of the Lord grow stronger in us. We are a Puerto Rican and Dominican household of 3 generations including our Niobe, who is a paraplegic who loves the Lord and rejoices seeing your ministry on Sundays. And we love you guys and we know that one day we are going to gather with our Heavenly Father and enjoy each other’s company in our Lord’s Presence.

Memorials

“And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.”
(Revelation 14:13)
