"A New Song" MAY 2017

Bible Study

Dear fellow worker of the Christian Worship Hour:

Many people call John 3:16 the greatest verse in the Bible; if it is not, it is surely one of the greatest. Look at it!

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.

Why is the greatest verse in the Bible; Because it has—–

  • The Greatest Lover, “GOD”. No one can argue the fact that God has the greatest, biggest, heart with which to love us. For an exercise in futility, try to describe the bigness of God’
  • The Greatest Degree, “SO LOVED”. It is beyond human comprehension to describe or understand the love of God toward us. Our love is so human and fickle; God’s love is beyond measure or description. (Romans 8:35-39)
  • The Greatest Company, “THE WORLD”. How many billions of people are there in the world? Don’t know? Doesn’t matter. God loves every one of them even sinful me. No one is left out, that’s just like God! (Romans 11:33)
  • The Greatest Act, “THAT HE GAVE”. Most of us give gifts, but none of us ever gave a gift like the Father in Heaven when He gave all He had, His only Son. I really cannot imagine such a gift! (II Corinthians 9:15)
  • The Greatest Gift, “HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON”. God could have given the silver and gold, and precious stones of the world and it would have cost Him nothing. When He gave His Son, it cost Him EVERYTHING! (Romans 8:32)
  • The Greatest Opportunity, “THAT WHOSOEVER”. Want to try something? Try to think of someone who is not included in the ‘whosoever’! There is no one so deep in sin but that they can come to Jesus if they want too. (Revelation 22:17)
  • The Greatest Simplicity, “BELIEVETH”. Even little children can believe in the Lord Jesus. If you do not believe today, it is because you are too stubborn or proud to call upon His Name.
  • The Greatest Attraction, “IN HIM”, Jesus Christ is the most beautiful Person the world has ever known and, as we walk with Him, He becomes more beautiful and loving every day. Every Christian says amen! (Song of Solomon 2:1)
  • The Great Promise, “SHOULD NOT PERISH”. You know what, no one can promise you salvation from hell except Jesus Christ. There are all sorts of promises, but the only one that counts is Jesus’ Promise to save us if we accept Him. (John 5:24)
  • The Greatest, “BUT”, What a difference Jesus makes, the difference between life and death, heaven and hell, joy and sorrow. Aren’t you glad Jesus came and someone told you about Him? (Psalm 40:3) Aren’t you glad you opened your heart to Him?
  • The Greatest Certainty, “HAVE”. Our salvation is not a ‘hope so’ ‘guess so’ ‘wait and see’ salvation. It is a ‘know so’. St. John tells us that Jesus and God both hold us in their hands. (John 10: 27-29) (John 3:36) (II Timothy 1:12) (I John 5:12,13)
  • The Greatest Possession, “EVERLASTING LIFE”. On earth we may get threescore and ten years, more or less. When we receive eternal life through Jesus, we live forever. Try and find that on the supermarket shelf! (John 1:12, 3:16, 3:36, 5:24)

Isn’t that a wonderful scripture? The whole world needs to hear it, and guess what, that is what the Christian Worship Hour is all about, telling the good news of the gospel which goes into all the world! (Short wave radio covers 90% of the world’s population)

But dear friends, we cannot do it alone. We need your fervent prayers and dedicated giving.

In Our Savior’s Love,

Harold E. Salem, pastor

Letters From Our Viewers

I was preparing to write you a check for $50 and when I looked down, I had written it for $100! I decided the Lord had decided on $100 so this is what I’m sending. Thank you for all you and everyone does. You have a wonderful outreach for all the Lord’s sheep including the LOST sheep.
HOT SPRINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA

Please continue to impress on the people that we accept Jesus through faith and that feelings have nothing to do with it. Some people do have feelings but a lot of us do not experience this. Your sister in Christ.
COCOA, FLORIDA

Sending my donation to help rescue lost souls around the world. I haven’t been able to walk for 23 years.
WINTER GARDEN, FLORIDA

You said if you don’t love Jesus is because you don’t know Him. That is so true. I’m learning to know Jesus. Every time I know a little more, I love Him more.
PARAMUS, NEW JERSEY

I am so glad I am back in His flock after falling away from Him for a while but through your messages, I know He still loves me and because of Jesus sacrifice on the cross and God’s grace, I have the hope, faith and trust that I will be with Him in heaven.
SPENCER, IOWA

Please accept this note of thanks for personally taking my telephone call several days ago. Thanks too for your sweet words of encouragement as I recommitted my life to Christ during our conversation,
NEW PORT RICHEY, FLORIDA

We had a twenty minute call from a gentleman in London who got us on Daystar. He had drifted from the Lord and, like the prodigal Son, came back into fellowship with God.
LONDON, ENGLAND

Through your program I have accepted God some years back.
SIOUX CITY, IOWA

Please pray that my limited sight may sustain me as long as I’m on this earth. I’m 90 years. You brought me to the Lord. God bless.
SIOUX FALLS, SOUTH DAKOTA

Your program is like the beacon of a lighthouse in the stormy sea of life. What a joy it is to know that so many are avoiding shipwreck on the treacherous rocks by coming to Jesus! Please keep preaching the gospel and thank you.
SUPERIOR, WISCONSIN

This morning I played hooky from church. There is so much turmoil and disorganization there right now I decided to stay home and pray. Well, I turned my TV and there you were preaching about Samuel. Within minutes I found myself weeping and red-dedicating my life to the Lord. God is good, and His Word in your mouth is powerful.
WASHINGTON, DC

Thank you for keeping your service simple. Nothing fancy—-just Jesus. I love your love for Jesus. Lord bless you.
PORT SAINT LUCIE, FLORIDA

Please put me back on your mailing list. On November 17, 2016 I became a Christian and threw away all my wiccan materials! I would like to receive your “A New Song” each month. I watch your Christian Worship Hour show on Sunday mornings. I’m back in locked housing and watching your show is my church time. Thank you for your time.
DEER LODGE, MONTANA

Thank you so much for The Christian Worship Hour. I had drifted away from our precious Heavenly Father Jesus. Now thanks to you and prayer, I’m back in full force.
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA
