"A New Song" APRIL 2016
Dear fellow worker of the Christian Worship Hour:
Do you ever wonder what I think about every week when I get up to preach? We don’t know each other; those of you on television can see me but I cannot see you so I have no idea what you look like, where you live, how you worship, or who you are. But none of that really matters. Long before I get up to preach, I kneel down to pray. And what do I pray!
- I PRAY THAT ALL WILL BE SAVED.
We have a false teaching that since God created us, He is our Father and everyone is His child; that is not true. God created the cattle on a thousand hills, but that does not make them His children. (Psalm 50:10) Jesus taught, as clear as a bell, that a person must be born again (John 3:3) and if not born again, they would be lost forever! (John 1:12). St. Paul prayed that Israel might be saved (Romans 10:1), so I pray that every listener to the Christian Worship Hour will also be saved. (II Peter 3:9) - I PRAY THAT ALL WILL GROW IN GRACE
When we accept Jesus into our heart and life, we are born again; that is, we are placed into the Body of Christ. (I Cor. 12:13). But when we start the Christian walk, we are spiritual babies and we have to grow. God wants us to grow into the full stature of Jesus Christ so that, instead of a bunch of whining babies, we are soldiers of the cross conquering the devil’s territory. (Hebrews 5:12-14) That calls for Bible reading and study, witnessing for Christ, being in church if able-bodied, and helping others in the cause of Christ. (I Cor. 3:1-4; II Peter 3:18). - I PRAY THAT ALL WILL SERVE JESUS
That is, that everyone who names the Name of Jesus will do something for Jesus. If you are a shut-in, you can serve Jesus by being sweet; by telling those around you how Jesus helps you. Always be ready to put in a good word for our Lord. (Peter 3:15) For the able bodied, help someone in need. Bake them a cake if you are able to make something fit to eat. Rake some lawns, clean some windows, serve those you know. And for goodness sake, help others come to know our Lord. (II Cor. 5:20). - I PRAY FOR ALL WHO ARE AFRAID
I know full well that some are afraid of death, and well they should be if they do not personally know the Lord. (Hebrews 10:31) There are all sorts of fears running around the countryside. Fear of old age, fear of poor health, fear of what tomorrow may bring, fear of losing our job, fear of losing a loved one; there just is no end. So my prayer is those who worship with us will find new faith in the Savior and place all things in His hands. They are loving, nail-pierced hands, and they will bring comfort if we lean on Jesus. (Matthew 11:28-31; I Peter 5:7). - I PRAY THAT WE ALL WILL MEET IN HEAVEN!
Won’t it be great when we get to heaven and gather around the throne of God! (Rev. 5:9, 10). And though we have not met in this world, we will meet and know each other in the next and better world. We will meet and know all the saints of the ages and those who worshipped around the Christian Worship Hour because as we worship Jesus, we will be drawn closer to each other in that celestial land. So take heart teammate and help us carry on. (Romans 8:18; Rev. 19:11-16).
And we do need help. The economy of the time makes giving harder for everyone. I lived in the Great Depression, and we have nothing of that magnitude yet. But in those days of desperation, we always put God first. We lost our wonderful farm, but we did not lose our wonderful God! So before we paid anything else, we gave God at least a tithe (10%) of what little we had coming in. God blessed us for it. (II Cor. 9:6).
Pray for God’s ministry, the Christian Worship Hour. All is for His glory and the holding forth of the Word of God. If YOU pray, we will make it; if you do not pray; we might have to drop stations. It is everybody’s calling, as a child of God, to advance His kingdom. Bless you all.
In our Savior’s Love,
Harold E. Salem, Pastor
A grandmother from Armour, South Dakota, called to tell us that her 9 year old grandson watched our service and when it was over, said he would like to accept Jesus but didn’t know how to do it. So grandmother explained that one just asks Jesus to come into his heart and wash away his sins, which the child did. I asked Jesus into my heart and He has been there for 85 years and will remain in my heart until I enter Heaven’s gates. The moment that little boy accepted Jesus, he was born again, he was baptized by the Holy Spirit into the Body of Christ, he became a child of God, his name was written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, he was indwelt by the Holy Spirit, and he will spend eternity in heaven. We have sent special literature for children who accept Jesus to help them get established in their faith. A faith that will grow all their lives until they enter the pearly gates of heaven. Praise the Lord!
ARMOUR, SOUTH DAKOTA
I’ve tried suicide but unsuccessful. I have committed so many sins I don’t feel worthy enough to go to Heaven. I have changed my life, quit drugs, alcohol, smoking but lacking self-esteem. Trying to find myself, not sure what to do. At times I feel alone. I talk to God regularly. Any literature and guidance would help. Thank you.
BOYNE CITY, MISSOURI
We received a nice letter from a lady who got us on ACC-TV and Daystar. She appreciated our service and requested that we pray for her health and her family. We are always thrilled when we hear from our international friends and always answer their letters promptly and also send literature. We have a prayer team of 70 people who pray for these special needs.
CRANBOURNE, AUSTRALIA
To my friends at Christian Worship Hour. I better get this in the mail. You have not because you asked not. One George Washington coming up! God Bless all of you kind folks.
SAN RAMON, CALIFORNIA
Bleeding out in the jungle of Viet Nam 1969. This old marine asked God to not allow him to die. Next morning they found me alive. Six months in hospitals I was released. Praise God for his mercy. I think, to me, Galatians 2:20 says it best. Waiting for Christ’s return.
OCALA, FLORIDA
My name is Curtis—–and I am an inmate in the Missouri Department of Corrections. I watched your show last Sunday, and after watching I gave myself to the Lord. The reason I am writing is because I would like to receive a Bible. They have Bibles I can check out in the Chapel Library but I would like to receive any Bible study course you may have. Thank you and God bless.
JEFFERSON CITY, MISSOURI
I prayed for the right time and guess what; my Dad received Jesus as his Lord and Savior on January 17, 2016. I used the Billy Graham booklet you sent me. He did tell me he heard of him and that he was good. So I think that helped and not to mention your prayers.
ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA
Listen each Sunday. I’m old and feel so useless and so alone. Please pray for me. May this help some —-so many need prayer.
CASPER, WYOMING
Please! I want to serve God and Jesus but no money and no home and don’t know what to do now. I’m very sorry for bothering God & Jesus & the world.
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA
I have knowingly sinned. Does this mean the Holy Spirit never entered me and saved me even though I prayed for salvation and am trying to keep his covenant?

Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit,
