"A New Song" DECEMBER 2017

Bible Study

Dear fellow worker of the Christian Worship Hour:

“Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable Gift.” II Corinthians 9:15

Christmas is the time for giving of gifts. God the Father gave the first gift. I don’t know if the shepherds brought gifts or not, but the Magi sure did, and expensive ones at that. (Matt. 2:11). Now here it is, over 2,000 years later, and at Christmas we still give gifts. I want to mention, “GIFTS THAT MONEY CANNOT BUY”.

 MONEY CANNOT BUY THE GIFT OF TIME. By that I mean, time for one another. This Christmas let’s give more time to our children, our spouse, our friends, our loved ones. Someone who may be lonely and neglected. The gift of time may be the most valuable gift you can give. (Col. 4:5). Money cannot buy it, and it always fits! (Rom. 12:10; Eph. 6:4).
 MONEY CANNOT BUY THE GIFT OF FORGIVENESS. Have you ever been wronged or hurt? I guess I should say, “Who hasn’t?” When I think of how I have been wronged, I am compelled to think of how awfully Jesus was wronged. Then I can hear Him from the cross say to those who were taking His life, “Father, forgive them” (Luke 23:24) and I know in my heart of hearts, I have to forgive too, because Jesus told me too. (Matt. 6:12). Give forgiveness, money cannot buy it and it always fits! (Matt. 5:22-24).
 MONEY CANNOT BUY THE GIFT OF KINDNESS. Here’s a gift God tells us to give. (Rom. 12:10). Be kind and affectionate. Spouses need to do this, parents need to give it to their children, and the children need to give the gift also. The world is rough and tough, we have plenty of that, but kindness is in short supply. If you look about, my guess is that you will find someone who needs a little kindness. Yes, give the gift of kindness, money cannot buy it and it always fits! (I Cor. 13:4-8).
 MONEY CANNOT BUY THE GIFT OF ENCOURAGEMENT. A long time ago the old prophet Isaiah said, “The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary” (Isaiah 50:4). In today’s language it would be, “Cheer people up, buster”. The lonely, the discouraged, the downhearted, downtrodden, disheartened and hurting. Encouraging the saints is a gift that money cannot buy, and it always fits! (John 16:33; I Peter 4:12,13).
 MONEY CANNOT BUY THE GIFT OF LOVE. You just cannot go to Wal-Mart and buy a can of love. Nor can we store love up in our heart. It is said, “Love isn’t love till you give it away.” Start giving this gift at Christmas and carry on all year long. Maybe your spouse, your child, a friend, a lonely person who is shut-in or a young person who is shut-out. Let’s be Godlike and give the gift of love, money cannot buy it and it always fits! (John 13:35; Rom. 12:9 “genuine”; I Cor. 13:13).
 MONEY CANNOT BUY THE GIFT OF SALVATION. The apostle Paul tells us that “The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23). While salvation is a gift, and is free, it does not mean that it did not cost something. Peter tells us how much our salvation cost when he declares, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold: But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” (I Peter 1:18,19). Yes, salvation is a gift money cannot buy, and it always fits! (Romans 10:13).
But do you know what, MONEY CAN BUY RADIO AND TELEVISION TIME! And for that we give you thanks and appreciation in Jesus’ name.
MERRY CHRISTMAS! GOD BLESS YOU!

Letters From Our Viewers

THANK YOU FOR WRITING…
I would like to express my gratitude to you for being sincere and honest in serving God the Father and spreading the gospel message to all. You see I was at the end of my rope and happened to catch you preaching. I’ve never seen that on television, only in church as a child. I know it was His way of letting me know there are straightforward no nonsense people who aren’t all show. I will try to start watching for you on T.V. regularly. So I will include you in my prayer.
I am still enjoying your ministry and praying for you that the Lord will continue to be with you as you spread the Gospel.
PONTIAC, ILLINOIS

My dear friend invited me to her home on October. I watched your service with her and looked up your website as soon as I had my home laptop connected to the internet. Thank you so very much you have changed my life.
SUMNER, IOWA

I can’t write very good so I just print. I just am 100 and two months old now. Jesus said I go make a place for you, then I will come and get you and you will be with me. So I believe He hasn’t got it ready yet so I will just wait for Him. I walk and talk with Him every day. I thank Him for our day. He told me, I am the Truth, the life and the way. I believe this.
DES MOINES, IOWA

My father has gone on to be with Jesus earlier this year. I just want you to know how much your show meant to him. He was a shut in for the last 3 years. He looked forward to your service every Sunday.
TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA

I had written to you while in jail and am so grateful your program was on because it not only gave me something to watch but fed me spiritually as well. It also was a blessing to the other women in the cell with me, even though they didn’t really want to watch it. God seen fit to bless them to hear His word. I am not out now, Bless God!
SIOUX FALLS, SOUTH DAKOTA

I want to tell you that my husband received Jesus after one of your messages earlier this year. Please keep telling people about Jesus. Tell people to not give up on anyone. Jesus called him home in September. He was 96. I have the blessed hope that I’ll see him one day. Kindest regards.
JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA

I am 80 years old, elder of a church in Guyana, South America. Please pray for my country, “Guyana” for politicians are destroying that beautiful country with so much wealth God has given us. I urge listeners to support your work for the Lord with their giving, offerings & tithes. Despite your age of 96 years, you can still find joy in preaching the Lord’s message of hope. The pearly gates of heaven will fling open for you to enter the golden city of God that has been prepared for you only if you open your heart and let Jesus enter. God bless you.
GUYANA, SOUTH AMERICA

I accepted Jesus through Christian Worship Hour. I accepted Jesus when I said the words at home during your program.
SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA

In this jail I did ask Jesus to come into my heart and forgive. I’m 80, scared and have trouble sleeping at night. I know that Jesus died on a cross for my sin.
DUBLIN, VIRGINIA

I’ve watched your ministry grow in all the world. You gave the devil a big black eye. Keep up the good work. In Jesus name.
BROOKINGS, SOUTH DAKOTA

Thank you for your program. Me and my fiancé try to watch every Sunday. We live in a small village in Alaska.
PORT GRAHAM, ALASKA

I’m dying of cancer and a shut-in. Without all of you there would be no church for me!! Thanks to The Christian Worship Hour, I’m a reborn Christian. Bless all of you. I don’t feel sad. Cancer didn’t kill me, it saved me.
DES MOINES, IOWA

“And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.”
