“I KNOW MY REDEEMER LIVES”

Bible Study

From the writings of Pastor Salem:

This great man of God gave the following statement:

“For I know that my Redeemer lives, and He shall stand at last on the earth; and after my skin is destroyed, this I know, that in my flesh I shall see God, Whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!”

Job 19:25-27 NKJV

v Job said, “I KNOW.” There were a lot of things Job did not know. He did not know why he had lost all of his children, possessions, servants, and was in an ash pile about to die! Yet he declares, “I KNOW.” If we have lived any time at all we will encounter hard things we do not understand, that make no sense. Yet we can always say with Job, “I KNOW.”

--Romans 8:28.

v Job said, “I KNOW I HAVE A REDEEMER.” Job knew that someone would come to redeem him from his sins. Job knew that it would all happen in God’s time. Today, we live with a full knowledge of the Redeemer because we live after the cross. It is the joy of our life to know the Redeemer personally. --Revelation 1:18.

v Job said, “I KNOW MY REDEEMER LIVES.” We don’t go to the cemetery to worship our Redeemer! Yes, He was once in the cemetery for three days and three nights, but that was the end of it! He is alive and lives in our hearts by His Spirit. Praise God!

--Acts 2:24.

v Job said, “I KNOW MY REDEEMER SHALL COME.” “He shall stand at last on earth.” Job just knew in his heart and soul that his Redeemer would come to redeem him! Jesus came in the fullness of time, shed His blood on the cross, was dead, and raised the third day! We thank and praise Him for that. --I Thessalonians 4:16.

v Job said, “I KNOW I SHALL LIVE AGAIN.” When Job uttered these words, he thought he was dying. But Job knew, no matter what, he would live again. How did he know that? God revealed it to his heart. So Jesus has promised us; we will live again! We have the same confidence Job had.

--John 14:19.

v Job said, “I KNOW I SHALL SEE GOD.” That is what he wanted more than anything else, and that is what we all want more than anything else---to see God personally. So many of our loved ones have looked upon the Savior, have touched Him, and talked to Him. I can hardly wait.

--I John 3:2.

v Job said, “I KNOW I SHALL BE SATISFIED.” “How my heart yearns within me!” In other words, that longing in my soul will be satisfied when I am safe at home with Jesus. That deep desire we have had all our life will be satisfied when we see Him, face to face!

--I Corinthians 13:12.

We cannot help but think that there may be some watching who do not yet know Jesus as Savior. Without Him, so much is missed—both now and for eternity. How we pray that hearts will turn to Him.

Friend, we are counting on your PRAYERS, GIFTS, and LETTING OTHERS KNOW -- for us to carry on for our Risen Christ.

God bless you, everyone!

In our Savior’s love,

Pastor Salem

Easter Afterglow

Easter Afterglow

No question about it—Easter is the most wonderful day of the Christian year. Why? Because it brings hope: hope for daily living, hope for those in despair, hope even in the face of death. Today, we especially think of hope for those who have slipped in their faith. It can happen to any of us.

Consider Peter. The night Jesus was arrested, he denied even knowing Him. Peter repented, wept bitterly, and returned to Jesus in heart and soul—but surely, he felt unworthy. He had failed Jesus, and perhaps thought, “He won’t want anything to do with me.” Sorrowfully, he went back to his old trade, saying, “I am going fishing.” (John 21:3).

But that was not the end. Jesus was crucified, buried, and then…raised from the dead! When the angel spoke at the empty tomb, the message was clear: “Go, tell His disciples…and Peter.” (Mark 16:7). Hope! Peter could come back.

If you have drifted away, Jesus is saying the same to you today: you can come back! That is the glorious Easter message—our prayer is that many hearts will return home this season.
