THE PERFECTIONS OF JESUS

Bible Study

Dear fellow worker of the Christian Worship Hour:

We do not know if you have noticed but on the Christian Worship Hour, all eyes are always on JESUS! All of our preaching, teaching, singing, reading----all exalt Jesus. We do that because He is the perfect Son of God.

From the writings of Pastor Salem:

Here are 6 ways to see His absolute perfection:

v HE IS PERFECT IN HIS WISDOM. Jesus never learned anything because He knew all things. “All knowledge lay in Him.” No wonder St. Paul declared, “in Him are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” (Colossians 2:3). So, we trust this wonderful Jesus to guide our lives! (Isaiah 41:13; Isaiah 58:11).

v HE IS PERFECT IN HIS POWER. Jesus has all power, and it never diminishes. St. John marveled and said that Jesus, by His power, did so many things that the whole world could not contain enough books to name them. (John 21:25). John is saying Jesus is so mighty that His deeds are seemingly innumerable. His greatest power was to forgive sins and aren’t we thankful for that? (Matthew 28:18; Luke 5:14).

v HE IS PERFECT IN HIS HUMILITY. Jesus was never boastful or proud, but instead, taught us to be meek. (Matthew 5:5). The amazing humbleness of Christ is stated in Philippians 2:5-8 where we are told that even though Jesus was in the form of God, He emptied Himself to become a man. He alone stooped from glory, became one of us, and died for us. We are called upon to “Let this mind be in you.” (Philippians 2:5).

v HE IS PERFECT IN HIS MAJESTY. No one ever took liberty with Jesus! Yes, they nailed Him to the cross, but it was because He allowed them to do it. And why? To pay for our sins. Look at the majesty of Christ as He drives out the money changers from the temple! (Matthew 21:12). Every way you look at it He is strong and majestic. Some day He will vanquish His enemies, and then we will really see His majesty! (Mark 13:24-27).

v HE WAS PERFECT IN HIS SINLESSNESS. Jesus never spoke a sinful word, committed a sinful act, or had a sinful thought. He is the only person Who ever lived that had no sin! Gabriel called Him, “that Holy thing.” (Luke 1:35). Jesus was absolutely perfect, and as such, took our sins and paid for them in full. (I John 1:7).

v HE IS PERFECT IN HIS LOVE. If ever there was a picture or portrait of true love, it was our Lord. Sometimes it is hard to love our friends, but Jesus loved His enemies and prayed for them! (Luke 23:34). That wonderful love is what drew me to Him when I was 10 years old, and I rejoice in it every day. But watch out, that love will draw to a close some day, maybe soon, then the unsaved will face His wrath. Now is the accepted time to come to Jesus for salvation, do not put it off, tomorrow may be too late. (II Corinthians 6:2).

So, that is our calling----to tell the whole world about our Wonderful Savior! We just thank all of you for being a part of our team, some serving, many praying, multitudes of giving and sharing. Someday we will see Him face to face, the Beautiful, Wonderful Savior in all His glory. (I Corinthians 13:12; Revelation 5:9-12). But for now, we want all the world to see Him! (Mark 16:15).

In our Savior’s love,

Pastor Salem

“MY GRACE IS SUFFICIENT!”

II Corinthians 12:9

Do you know what?  Of all the religions of the world, the Christian faith is the ONLY one who has the word “grace” in it!  All of the false gods and phony founders put together, never came up with a word as precious and beautiful as “grace.”  So, the Christian Faith has grace, not just a little of it, but mountains of it.  And if anybody needed the grace of God, Paul did.  If you want a partial list of his sins, just listen to him enumerate some of them in his defense before King Agrippa.  He was so wicked that even the wicked king got sick to his stomach.  (Acts 26: 9-12).  Paul admitted to young Timothy he was the worst sinner that ever lived, calling himself as the “chief of all the sinners” of the world!  (I Timothy 1:15).

So, Paul’s sins were bad, bad and he was destined for hell, and rightly so.  But don’t forget, God is a God of Grace, and there is hope for even Paul. God tells him, “my grace is sufficient for thee.” (II Corinthians 12:9).  The wondrous grace of God makes it possible for wicked old Saul to call upon the Name of the Lord for forgiveness, and lo and behold, because he repents and asks for salvation, it is granted forthwith.  Paul later said, “But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.”  (Romans 5:20).

About eighteen hundred years later, John Newton said the very same thing, “Amazing grace! How sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me!  I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see.”  Oh friend, that is why I love to preach!  I love to preach because there is always hope, hope that comes because God loves and gives grace.  But what IS grace, what does it mean?  It simply means, “unmerited favor.”  That is, we are all wicked sinners, enemies of God, who deserve hell.  But this wonderful God of Israel, loves us in our sin and makes it possible for us to be saved from the consequences of sin.  That is grace----we deserve nothing, but condemnation and God opens his arms and His heart, gives us His son to die for us, raises Him for our justification so that, instead of being His enemies, we can become His children!  St. John puts it this way, “But as many as received Him to them gave He the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.”  (John 1:12).  The word ‘gospel’ means, ‘good news’.  Now isn’t that good news?  To be on the road to hell, burdened down with heavy, ugly sins.  And then comes the Savior, coming in love and grace, to redeem us, to save us from the torments of hell!

Friends, you won’t get news like that in the newspaper, or on television, unless you watch the Christian Worship Hour.  And, I hastily add, there are many good, gospel preachers on television and the radio, we are just one of many.  So, the news goes out, and the grace of God is offered to the entire world.  We pray to God that many will enter in.  As Newton says, “Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved.  How precious did that grace appear, the hour I first believed!”

Friend, if you haven’t availed yourself of that grace, do so immediately!
