PAUL’S “BE THANKFUL” LIST
Dear fellow worker of the Christian Worship Hour:
Guess what, it is November! And what do you think about the most in November, not firecrackers, but
From the writings of Pastor Salem:
St. Paul tells us:
“In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
I Thessalonians 5:18.
St. Paul was thankful in all things; here are six of them!
v HE IS THANKFUL FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF PRAYER. (Philippians 4:6). All of us are in that camp because it means we can go to the Heavenly Father at any time, day or night. Just think of it, we can walk into the very presence of God whenever we want. (Hebrews 4:16). I know I am thankful I have the Father’s ear all the time. (Psalm 55:17; Psalm 121.4).
v HE IS THANKFUL FOR THE PEACE OF GOD. (Philippians 4:7). St. Paul says that it is a peace that “passeth all understanding,” that is, it is such a wonderful peace that it passes or exceeds all of our understanding. It is a peace the world cannot give, and a peace the world cannot take away! Praise God! (Psalm 90:1; John 14:27).
v HE IS THANKFUL FOR THE PRESENCE OF GOD. (Philippians 4:9). I don’t know about you, but for me that is one of the most wonderful things about my salvation---I have the dear Lord Jesus by my side wherever I go and whatever I do----I am never away from my loving Savior! (Hebrews 13:5). And you know what else, the wonderful presence of Jesus Christ is with me until I die, and then I am with Him forever! How can you beat that? (Psalm 46:7; Psalm 103:13; Matthew 28:20).
v HE IS THANKFUL FOR THE POWER OF GOD. (Philippians 4:13). Throughout my life, I have experienced God's unwavering support, guidance, and strength, which have sustained me through various challenges and trials. And let me tell you something else, there are a million times and a million ways He has helped us that we didn’t see or know about. (Psalm 139:1-6). And besides all that, He has delegated a host of angels to watch over us and guide our steps through this wilderness journey! (Psalm 91:11). What a great God! (Deuteronomy 33:25).
v HE IS THANKFUL FOR THE PROVISION GOD SUPPLIES. (Philippians 4:19). You know what, God has promised to supply our every need, that is, what we need to exist, not every whim and want that we might have, like some spoiled child. No. What we need, and I can tell you this, God knows what we need far more than we do. (Psalm 23:1; Isaiah 40:11; Philippians 4:11; I Peter 5:7).
v HE IS THANKFUL FOR THE SALVATION GOD PROVIDES! (John 3:16). You can go to every store in town, but you will never find salvation on the shelf---you know why? Because they don’t have it. There is only one place in creation where you can find salvation, everlasting life, and that is in Jesus. (John 14:6). That is why I just love to preach! Because I can present the wonderful salvation of God to everyone, no one is left out; no one has gone too far astray. (Psalm 55:22; Isaiah 1:18; Isaiah 43:2; Acts 4:12).
We are grateful that we have the opportunity to share the message of the Savior with the entire world. The more you pray, the more the Spirit works. The more you share about Jesus with others, the more people will come to know Him.
