Scripture: Heb. 12:1-2
Broadcast date: 06/06/2016

“Let us run with patience the race that is set before us looking unto Jesus the Author and finisher of our faith.” Are you in a struggle today? Don’t give up. Fix your eyes upon Jesus and keep in mind, it is always too soon to give up.

I read the story just the other day about Florence Chadwick who attempted to swim the 26 mile distance from the coast of California to Catalina Island. She got along fine until, after 15 hours, a heavy fog set in. As a result she became disoriented, couldn’t see her way, and gave up. After she was picked up, she was sick because she had given up just one mile short of her goal. But to her credit, two months later she tried again. This time a thick fog settled in as before, but she kept her cool and made the goal, Catalina Island. When I read that, I thought of how there are times when we want to give up when in reality, we may be close to winning. The writer of Hebrews tells us, “let us run with patience the race that is set before us” and instead of looking for Catalina Island, God says, “looking unto Jesus the Author and finisher of our faith.” (Hebrews 12: 1,2.) Dear friend, are you in a struggle today? Don’t give up. Fix your eyes upon Jesus and keep in mind, it is always too soon to give up.
God bless you!
